NSPCC / Childline

NSPCC/Childline
The NSPCC deliver a wide range of services to protect children today and prevent abuse tomorrow. Here is what we achieved in Norfolk, in 2023/24:
10,450 children, in 61 schools, took part in our Speak out Stay safe programme in Norfolk.
2,300 counselling sessions were delivered by our Childline volunteers. Some of these children were going through the toughest time of their lives and chose only to share this worry with our professionals. We listen to children and young people and empower them to share.
671 referrals were made from our Helpline to local safeguarding agencies in Norfolk.

Brain Tumour Research

Brain Tumour Research
One in three people in the UK know someone affected by a brain tumour. This disease is indiscriminate; it can affect anyone at any age. What’s more, brain tumours continue to kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet, to date, just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.

Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this.

A powerful campaigning organisation, Brain Tumour Research is the leading voice of the brain tumour community. we are the only national charity focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. Our work focuses on campaigning to increase the national investment in research into brain tumours to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence, across the UK.

St-Eds

St Edmunds Society
offers vocational training opportunities to vulnerable young people.
For many, the chance to gain trade related qualifications, as well as the attitude necessary to achieve sustained independence, can be a turning point in many young people’s lives. We support young people aged 11-25 who have struggled in mainstream education, many of whom are vulnerable, have Special Educational Needs, been excluded from school, or simply not in education, employment or training (NEET). The impact is significant, as we build positive aspirations and an increase in self-worth and self-esteem, removing barriers to learning, to allow the students to achieve accredited trade related qualifications.
